How to succeed in this role:
A technical student attached to Unisys for a certain period of time, such as a summer intern or fellow student. Essential Responsibilities
- 1. Apply learning processes, standards, and tools to assigned projects.
- 2. Learn products, tools, or technical areas that rely on technical staff for domain knowledge.
- 3. Participate in various phases of software development (eg design, implementation, support, etc.).
- 4. Work independently or as an effective team member.
- 5. Determines and escalates issues as necessary.
- 6. Get an understanding of the requirements in the assigned task.
- 7. Accepts and understands project and problem assessments from senior staff.
- 8. Perform defined tasks with a limited scope and duration with direction or guidance:
- a. perform simple functions
- b. write clear and concise documentation to support implementation, problem analysis, and/or problem solution
- c. build and maintain system software development environment
- d. conduct a pre-written test
- e. write and/or review test cases for clarity and accuracy
- f. See test cases. collect information to help investigate and solve problems h. fix minor bugs / problems in certain areas of code.
- 9. Provide status (written or verbal) on work efforts as needed
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Key skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s student degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related fields.
- Knowledge of basic software engineering concepts.
- Problem solving
- Familiarity with SDLC (software development cycle) concepts
- One or more familiar with several programming languages. )
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
- Possess a natural flair for technology
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment or as an independent contributor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
