Job Description:
The primary role of a service desk employee is to respond to customer inquiries via email, chat, web, or phone.
This role is critical to ensuring that customer needs are met in terms of communication, prioritisation, escalation, and as well as resolution of incidents and requests.
Responsibilities:
- First point of contact for any end user reported issues or inquiries
- Typically provides technical support to internal and external customers
- Responsible for providing telephone technical support for hardware, operating systems, subsystems, and/or applications to customers and/or employees
- Applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate root causes, and recommend solutions to resolve common errors
- Takes ownership of end user issues to resolution and follow up as per process requirements
- Escalates complex issues to remote support engineering or field engineering staff
- Maintains call quality and response times according to agreed SLA.
- Maintains records of calls and ensures all cases are updated in the system
- Assist multiple clients with customer service by demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
Key Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, hardware, networks, and as well as MS applications
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Multitasking and as well as coordination skills
- Excellent judgment to properly assess situations and as well as provide immediate effective solutions
- Lastly, Willingness and ability to work a shift schedule (24 x 7).
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualifications: graduate with an engineering or non-technical degree (class of 2021 and 2022)
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a relevant certificate course and/or relevant experience in the delivery of information technology services Relevant IT tertiary level qualifications
