Overview
Cloud Optix provides the continuous analysis and visibility organizations need to identify, respond, and prevent security and compliance gaps while finding ways to optimize cloud spending. Sophos’ Security Attitude Management tool provides a single view of security posture across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes and infrastructure-to-code environments.
It also empowers software engineers who want to tackle the difficult challenges of building high-volume distributed networks and building cloud security platforms.
As a member of the Sophos Public Cloud development team, you will work closely with software engineers, architects, product management and others to design and scale services and architectures and accelerate public cloud security and bring new features to market.
We As part of a competitive scrum team, you will design and develop platform features and drive best practices for a constantly evolving Cloud security platform. You will work with other Sophos product teams to understand and build features that leverage their capabilities to improve security posture and provide a unified approach to the cloud platform.
We are looking for a Java application developer who is responsible for managing data exchange between servers and users/resources. The focus is on developing all server-side logic and policy and compliance engines, managing and collecting data from remote nodes to ensure high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests.
The Java developer will also be responsible for connecting the front-end elements (built by the team) to the application.

- Expert in Java, familiar with Spring boot and Hibernate framework.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle
- Can create database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Strong unit testing and debugging skills
- Good understanding of code revision tools like Git
- Understand the slow approach to frequent launches and focus on getting the MVP to market as soon as possible to maximize exposure.
- Passion for fast and iterative software development
- Learn quickly and be open to working with new libraries/platforms
