NLP expertise
- The Data Scientist is an expert in applied NLP skills, i.e. text classification, NER, multilingual product creation, sentiment analysis, topic classification, information retrieval, conversational AI.
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs such as ChatGPT, Vicuna, Dolly, etc., prompt engineering and managing LLM inputs and outputs can be a big plus.
- Brings an outside-in perspective to innovative technology adoption, re-engineering of existing capabilities, implementation of best practices for NLP product development.
- Is able to evaluate all options for a given situation and recommend the best based on evidence. Functions as a point of contact for few applied NLP areas in the team.
Business understanding & solution implementation
- Business need is understood and formalized into a descriptive data sheet or specification
- Methods are identified through external research and selected based on their theoretical basis, advantages and disadvantages.
- Results of analysis or models are presented to clients with data visualization tools that show performance and limitations. Source code is provided and explained as needed.
Quality/Capitalization
- All phases of the machine learning project are implemented in compliance with quality standards (pipeline, components, testing)
- All valuable code is reusable for the community. Data analysis models are monitored (technological monitoring) and partnerships are developed
Health of the Métier
- The Métier is well supported by the network of data scientists with suggestions for improvements to develop people, technologies, and processes.
Qualifications

Required:
at least 6 years of overall machine learning/advanced analytics experience with significant time spent building enterprise level NLP solutions. - at least 4 years of experience in NLP solution development and applied research, including at least 4 years in Python
- Strong experience developing and implementing NLP applications in a commercial environment.
- Hands-on experience in creating POCs and solutions using GenerativeAI and LLMs can be a plus.
- Expert in NLP methods: Document embedding, text mining, topic classification, sentiment analysis, information extraction, conversational AI, generative AI, etc.
- Expert in deep learning models for sequence-to-sequence problems such as LSTMs, GRUs, RNNs
- Experience with NLTK, Spacy, Gensim, HuggingFace Transformers
- B.Tech/B.E. degree in computer science or related IT /technology field or equivalent experience
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team player who can work well in a highly collaborative, multicultural and mixed organization.
Preferred:
Azure knowledge and conceptual familiarity with ML Engineering and ML Ops
