Job Description:
Roles and responsibilities:
- As a member of the team, your responsibilities will include:
- Investigating emerging market trends, tools, metrics, advancements, and also best practises in climate risk strategy
- Conducting research on a range of climate-related topics impacting the company’s operations and developing market intelligence and industry knowledge
- Developing the client’s climate strategy capabilities, prioritising strategic impacts and action plans
- Make recommendations on implementation, operations, and also adjustments to client programmes related to sustainability and climate
- Conducting research on climate-related issues to support KPMG onshore teams, providing analysis and as well as recommendations
- Develop and manage the implementation of science-based targets, develop client capacity to support data collection and as well as reporting
- Moreover, Support KPMG onshore teams in leading business development initiatives, including proposal development.
- Contribution to thought leadership and knowledge management to support practice development
- Actively support practice development by building and maintaining relationships and interaction with stakeholders in various KPMG member firms.
Essential skills required Education / Professional:
- MBAs, economists, and engineers from a leading Indian/international educational institution
- Educational background in climate change, natural sciences, energy, environmental engineering or related fields (preferred but not mandatory)
- Prior Experience: Relevant experience in climate risk, ESG, and/or sustainability gained in global research and consulting firms and/or industry (preferred, but not mandatory).
Requirements:
- Relevant certifications and knowledge of key frameworks such as GRI, CDP, TCFD, GRESB, SASB, SBTI, DJSI, SDGs, NZGs, CSRD, NFRD, GARP SCR, CFA ESG, etc.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas of work – setting net zero targets, energy efficiency and decarbonization strategy, climate risk scenario modelling, scenario analysis, physical and
- transition risk mapping, risk integration, energy transition, scope 3 consulting, supply chain sustainability, circular economy; (demonstrated expertise in one or more topic areas an asset)
- experience performing or assessing quantification and calculations related to GHG emissions, inventory, assurance, reduction, and reporting, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
- experience with supply chain sustainability, supply chain risk, sourcing, transformation, transparency, and other risk-based approaches to supply chain management
- fundamental understanding of carbon accounting, baselining, markets and trade; sustainable finance, including financed emissions and ESG-focused investments
- hands-on experience in climate strategy development and implementation, corporate sustainability strategy, and change management is desirable.
