Job Description
At Intel We are seeking a collaborative and experienced SW Engineer to join our global Workload Services Framework (WSF) development organization supporting next generation technical innovation and delivering scalable, high quality E2E workloads and SW stacks for media workloads in support of the Intel NEX roadmap.
This role includes design, integration, benchmarking, performance analysis and optimization, and publishing documentation for media SW services and solutions. In this role, you will analyze existing Media SW services and workloads to determine technical requirements, potential solutions, and automation required to scale, and drive the solution through cross-team and cross-organizational collaboration as needed.
You will be a strong hands-on engineer who can design, implement, and deploy holistic solutions that leverage both hardware and software components to solve real-world customer usage problems. You will leverage and enhance existing architectures/solutions and close gaps to deliver end-to-end media software solutions.
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of media systems and requires collaboration with architecture, design, and validation teams. You will be expected to understand the entire solution – from top to bottom, i.e. including the platforms HW (pre- and post-silicon), FW and the media layers SW (driver, framework, etc.) – to effectively get to the root of problems and collaborate with cross-functional teams HW, FW and SW to solve complex problems.
Qualifications
Must have:
- Proficiency with ffmpeg, gstreamer, libva and other relevant media frameworks.
- Strong understanding of media codecs (x264, x265, etc.) and video analytics.
- Experience with video streaming technologies and protocols.
- Solid knowledge of video processing algorithms and techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex media related issues.
- Excellent programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, Shell, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in media and video workload development.
- Proven experience working on multimedia projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in media and video workload development
- Experience with hardware acceleration (CPU or GPU) for media processing
- Familiarity with emerging trends in media technologies and video standards
- Previous contributions to open source media projects
- Hands-on experience with media system firmware, kernel, driver and framework optimization
- Strong team player, collaborative and successful in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and problem solving skills with the ability to clearly define and communicate issues, strong influencing skills, and the ability to work across multiple groups and locations to drive alignment and problem resolution.
