IBM Hiring – Intern Engineer 2023 – Apply Now

Role: Intern engineer

Introduction
At IBM, work is more than work. It is a call to build. design. encode. find. We think and sell together with our customers.
to create a market. decorate. Cooperation. It’s not just about doing better, it’s about trying things you thought were impossible. Are you ready to lead this new age of technology and solve the world’s toughest problems? So let’s talk.

Your roles and responsibilities
The IBM Systems group has developed the world’s most powerful supercomputer. The technology used to develop circuits is shrinking. New technologies and foundries need faster times to develop physical designs that will eventually be fabricated in silicon. Layout design, also known as mask layout design, is specific to the foundry and has exacerbated the problem with the adoption of new technologies. Developing processors and their components, such as arrays, register files, synthesizable structures, and large blocks, requires new methodologies.
ISDL’s processor development team is working on the latest generation of processors for IBM Z (mainframe) and IBM Power Systems.
The team is involved in defining plan design methodologies and optimizing post deployment. The main challenges were timing requirements, noise reduction, maintaining a specific power band and at the same time creating reliable layouts in an automated manner.
You will be involved in collecting a variety of data from a historical project and must propose solutions to determine methodologies leading to pioneering innovations. Gain in-depth knowledge of the layout design and physical design process.

Required Skills
Working knowledge of the VLSI design cycle, digital electronics, computer architecture, hardware cryptographic mechanisms, and operating systems.
Good programming and scripting skills Highly desirable.

Responsibility:

The Server memory development team at IBM India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) works on the latest Server class memory technology which includes developing memory subsystem architecture with DDR4 & DDDR5 DRAM DIMM, MRAM, SSD/FLASH and Storage class memory.
You shall get an opportunity to learn about server memory subsystem architecture and emerging memory technology trends. You could expect to perform validation & competitive analysis of new technologies and prototype/engineering samples from suppliers along with hands-on experience in a POWER Server Lab. At the end of the project, you should be able to demonstrate good understanding of a POWER server, suggest improvements on the present validation techniques and show a deeper understanding of server memory architecture.

Technical and professional experience required:
VLSI design cycle, working knowledge of digital electronics and computer systems.
Knowledge of various memory technologies and end-uses.
Proven programming and scripting skills (Python/PERL) highly desirable.
Strong communication, analytics, Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate/coordinate within a team to achieve agreed-upon goals and realize team vision.
Ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
