ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Emerson
- Build the models of the assigned system/subsystem/electrical system within the agreed budget and schedule
- Updating the data collection list for simulator design and fine tuning according to the project scope
- Preparation of the simulator design specification (SDS) for the assigned system/sub-system
- Mark-up of P& ID’s according to the project scope
- Supporting Pre-Factory Acceptance Test and Factory Acceptance Test in India or any overseas location and meeting customer requirements as per the project scope
- Follow departmental quality procedures during various project phases and regularly complete all quality related checklists for assigned system/sub-system.
- Prepare project folders for internal audits before and after MSAT.
- Support and integrate all systems/subsystems for testing
- Integrate own work order with work of other team members to meet project requirements
- Work closely with global modeling team and extend support as needed
- Performing work within established budget and schedule.
- Complete other tasks as assigned from time to time.
- Work on a simulator project with a team of 4-5 engineers
TRAINING and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in mechanical/energy engineering

External: Front Office / Customer
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Required experience 0-3 years
- Familiarity with operations and controls or direct experience with thermal power plants – coal/gas boilers and/or combined cycle.
- Understanding of thermodynamics and fundamentals of major power plant subsystems and their interactions.
- Should be able to understand the power calculation packages written in “C” / “C++” for the previous packages and use them for the current project
- Tuning of control loops in running power plants, experience with key control concepts such as PID tuning, feed forward control, basic system identification using process trends.
- Experience with base-level or simple tie-back controls modeling to create process models for validation of controls prior to installation of site applications
- Experience designing and implementing control system configuration changes.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
