Based in our Pittsburgh office, PA, the successful candidate will be a critical part of the Generator Excitation Solutions group, with design/implementation and project execution responsibilities for digital generator controls.
In this role, you will support Emerson’s Power and Water Solutions business unit.
The group is focused on upgrading existing power plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls
and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid.
In this role, you will leverage our virtualization, simulation, and remote support technologies along with Emerson proprietary software to provide customized and as well as cost effective solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:

- You will have the opportunity to grow and as well as develop your technical skills
- You will work on a combination of design and hands-on testing of the devices you develop
- Travel to customer sites to perform site visits, maintenance, commissioning, or other tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering from an accredited university or university
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% domestically
- Legal permission to work in the United States, either now or in the future
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 1-2 years of experience with generator excitation systems is a plus
- Experience in electrical systems design is a plus
- We expect you to have solid hands-on experience from an internship, cooperative education (CO-OP), or project-based academic assignment of at least six months duration
Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week.
