Responsibility:
Gathering Requirements:
- understand, interpret and clarify functional requirements and technical requirements and requirements standards for the project.
Project estimation:
Ability to state effort and schedule for assigned task.
Capability Development:
- improve core competencies to advance the learning curve in the specified area of expertise.
Design & Analysis:
- ‘ study of assigned functional specifications.
- ‘ Analyze and determine impact of specifications.
- ask questions and obtain solutions from various stakeholders.
- Provide necessary support for proof of concept development.
Coding:
- develop coding (business layer coding, interface development, service development, stored procedure creation, etc.) as required by the project.
- Timely clarification of issues / problems / concerns regarding work product to project manager.
periodic review by peers / senior developer. - revise code based on code reviews / bugs found during unit testing or other relevant testing phases.
- participate in code peer review as needed.
- Highlight potential risks to leads and solicit input to resolve identified issues.
- support component integration as needed.
- Update traceability matrix for work package developed.
- assist with process audit activities.
- Compliance with processes and tools (use of cognizant 20, knowledge of the quality management system).
- adherence to SCM guidelines established for the project.
Testing:
- ‘ write unit test cases for the respective unit.
- obtain peer / senior developer review for the written test cases.
- ‘ Execute the test cases.
- Record and fix any bugs found and retest the units during the test and warranty phase.
- Review work to ensure compliance with SCM guidelines established for the project.
- Follow up on the integration of the developed component into the application.
- Understand and execute automation tools for testing.
Defect management:
- rework code based on comments from code review or defects found during unit testing, peer testing, SIT UAT testing, or other relevant testing phases.
Process improvements and compliance:
- provide ideas for process improvements or value that can be provided and share them with relevant stakeholders.
- process and tool compliance (use of cognizant 20 quality management system awareness IDE etc.).
Knowledge management:
- ‘ Contribute to updating knowledge assets user manual online help document installation manual / scripts.
- contribute / search / reuse all types of assets from the repository.
